brainwashing

I only gave myself one New Year’s resolution this year, and I’ve completed it already. I figured moving and starting a new job was enough for one year.
I’ve kept up the meditation this year though and added in a few new alternative-health habits, and all that plus sheer mind over matter has allowed me to slowly taper down the medication I’ve been on due to an autoimmune condition. I had a grim prognosis initially and a couple of years ago was being advised to add an additional medication to my regimen. Now I am slowly but surely tapering down to the point that I may be medication free by the end of the year. I’m pretty much pain free and stronger and more flexible than ever.
To top off all the relaxation techniques I practice, I sometimes encounter a pod of dolphins swimming near me when I’m out in the ocean.
So the occasional blissful moment does wash over me.
I applaud you for the approach you are taking–alternative medicine and enjoying the dolphins too! Both are contributing to your health in a positive way, I’m sure.
I have been dealing with an autoimmune condition as well, and have had very good success treating it with acupuncture/Chinese herbal medicine as well as a diet regimen along the lines of the Weston Price protocols, i.e., raw milk, lots of cultured/sprouted/fermented foods and no grains. I’m not sure which thing has helped more but at a recent checkup my rheumatologist was ‘very, very surprised’ by my test results showing markedly reduced antibody levels. I have no evidence of symptoms at the moment. I am a true believer in acupuncture, which has helped me with a few other conditions as well. (Not covered by insurance — naturally!)
In addition to the kundalini yoga/meditation, I have added lots of fermented foods to my diet.
