the crowded street

I’m almost finished with The Odd Women by George Gissing and recommend it highly. It feels amazingly contemporary. I kept checking to see if it was really published in 1893.
Another one I’m enjoying, which I downloaded through a free trial at audible, is this:

We have been reading very similar things these past few months — I only just finished The Crowded Street. I liked it very much but will say nothing more as I don’t want to blurt out any spoilers. Let us know how you end up liking it.
It’s nice to feel like we are in the same book club– a book club of two, that is. I’ll let you know what I think when I’m done.
I really enjoyed The Crowded Street, and I’m happy with the ending, although I would have understood if the main character had said yes. I really liked the response she did give though.
