2012 in review

Thank you to my top commenters and to everyone who has been reading along!
If you feel comfortable doing so (and I understand if you don’t), in the comments section of this post please share your story, how long you’ve been reading, if you’ve found the blog helpful, if your feelings or situation have changed over the course of 2012, and/or anything else you think is relevant.
And… HAPPY NEW YEAR.
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 87,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 5 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
Happy New Year!!
87,000 times in 2012 ? Wow…wow! I’m telling you, this blog should be a book…you could just edit out any really personal issues (and I guess would have to get the rights to use any excerpts) but the way it’s written and set up (with clever, sparse headings) is perfect. It makes it very unique and, well, classy. And even if people knew who you were (or could publish anonymously) would that be so bad? You write extremely well, it’s clever, reflective, honest – you come across well – absolutely nothing to be ashamed of….and I think many many women would relate to it.
For me – I started reading on the third post I think…found it by accident but the posts were so good I have kept reading. I love the excerpts and the other readers seem really nice and thoughtful (Happy New Year YogaGurl!) and I think you seem to have really come into your own from reading your posts. I wish you all the best for a happy, healthy, adventurous and fulfilling 2013 🙂
Mia,
I’ve thought about it a little but am not quite there yet. Thinking maybe I should just continue to build readership through the blog. Looks like I’m staying with it?
Not sure if that is a lot of readers or not– it sounds like it is, but I’ve read of blogs-to-books that had 5000 a day!
That’s great that you’ve been reading since the early days!
Best wishes in 2013…
or even self publishing – http://www.amazon.com/gp/seller-account/mm-summary-page.html?topic=200260520 😉
Hello,
I have been an avid reader of your blog for a year now (can’t remember exactly when i started).
You write very well and I love the sharpness of your mind and point of view. I came upon your blog as I was researching women without children. I am French and in this country only 10,5 % women reach 45 years old without a child. It’s really not much and I lack positive role models as it seems that I will be taking the childfree route myself, mostly for spiritual reasons (I have been in a relationship for over 4 years).
Through your blog, I have discovered many interesting articles and points
of view. There are so many amazing people out there!!
I wish you a wonderful 2013!
I remember some of your previous comments– glad to know you are still aboard! Also, thanks for sharing your story– how interesting. My guess is that at least one reason less women are childless in France is that it’s easier to be a mother there.
